We have a Yucca plant, and that is our Strange Plant Of The Hour (SPOTH)
The thing with yuccas is that they live in hot, dry places.
We live in New England, which is sometimes hot and at other times is cold, but rarely all that dry.
So ever since our yucca was just a wee baby we have brought it indoors for the winter so that it will not freeze to death.
However, yuccas can grow to be rather tall, and that presents a problem.
Years later, this is the plant that we have.
That is not trick photography. The plant really is that tall.
Oh, what to do?
Here is the solution we came up with.
Yes, the plant spans most of the length of the garage.
Yes, we tied it to the lally column to keep it from falling over.
Yes, we live with that all winter long.
I don’t know what we will do when the plant grows longer than the garage as well as taller than the garage.
Sigh.
