"Tidal Pool"
This painting is of a tidal pool which I found on the
rocks up on Clark Island, Maine. I was fascinated by the
colors in the water and the rocks as well as the reflections
on the surface of the water. The grabber is the large reflection
of the sun in the upper left of the painting.
This is a semi-abstract painting, which means that while
it is recognizable as a real world scene, it is not meant
to be a direct copy of what was there. The goal was to capture
the sparkling nature of the rocks and the water in the
bright sunlight while playing with the abstract shapes.
