"Gourd Banjo II"

This is a portrait of a gourd banjo that I made in 2008. I think of the image as a trifecta, if I may be allowed a small conceit. First of all, I built the banjo from scratch. Second, I play the banjo. And third, I painted a portrait of the instrument, which is the painting you see here.
